Review | COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

This COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is also called a cult classic. And you may have come across it hundreds of times on Instagram or in K-beauty stores. At least I do.

So once it was on sale I bought it and then never used it. Because I accidentally ordered two cleansers and the cleanser from Pyunkang Yul Low pH Pore Deep Cleansing Foam had my preference at that time.

But the Pyunkang Yul cleanser ran out and it was time for a new one. Finally I could start on the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser.

And I can say so far that this is the best cleanser I have ever used! Why didn’t I use this cleanser first? Why didn’t I buy two of these! Why did I stay with the Pyunkang Yul Cleanser for so long? Why, why why?

So here’s my glowing review on the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser!

About the brand COSRX

COSRX is one of the most popular K-beauty brands. Within the K-beauty world they distinguish themselves by not making cute packaging, but sleek minimalistic designs.

COSRX, which stands for Cosmetics + Recipe (RX), has started in 2015 and their products are effective for every skin type. Their goal is that you see results the next day with their products. They use nourishing ingredients such as, snail mucin, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera.

With their bestsellers BHA Blackhead Power Liquid and Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser they have put themselves on the map world wide. And they won the Cosmo Beauty Awards in 2018. This places them at the top of the Korean Beauty industry.

What it promises

The COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a mild and gentle cleanser to start your day with. It effectively removes excess oil and dead skin.

It contains tea tree oil and natural BHA to refine the skin. It also has a pH level that’s the closest to your skin’s natural pH level. This leaves the skin soft, moist and refreshed without stripping it of its natural oils.

What I think of the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

Let me start that I really love the packaging. I like the combination of blue and yellow against a white background. So this cleanser already scored points.

The cleanser itself has a transparent gel structure and spreads easily over my face. It has a slight tea tree scent and normally I don’t like that, but in this cleanser I do. It’s so subtle. I really like the smell. It’s kind of relaxing.

After I spread the gel on my face, it starts to foam slightly. It doesn’t sting my eyes and the foam doesn’t feel aggressive at all.

And now my biggest plus from this cleanser: the foam is so easy to remove! My Pyunkang Yul cleanser lathered too, but it was so hard for me to get the lather off my face. I had to use a lot of water to get the foam off, but with this cleanser this isn’t the case at all.

The foam easily drips off my face with the water, which makes my face clean quickly. My face also looks immediately clean, without looking tight. My sensitive skin isn’t irritated or red, but radiant and clean.

That’s something that no cleanser I’ve used so far had been able to, not even the Pyunkang Yul cleanser. Because that cleanser sometimes gave my skin a tight feeling and my skin didn’t feel that clean after using it.

Although this cleanser is a morning cleanser, I also use it in the evening. I don’t think that’s a problem, because COSRX claims that this cleanser can also remove makeup. I haven’t tried that yet. When I have makeup on I always do a double cleanse, but I start with the BANILA CO Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm. In my opinion that’s the best cleanser to thoroughly remove makeup.

All in all I understand that this cleanser is a cult classic. It’s definitely a keeper on my shelf!
