Review | Beauty Of Joseon Calming Serum

Since using the Benton Deep Green Tea Toner, I found out that my skin loooooves green tea. My skin is less irritated, I have fewer pimples and my skin looks more even.

Time to add more green tea to my skincare routine! So when my serum was almost gone, I went looking for a serum that contains green tea. And I came across the Beauty of Joseon Calming Serum.

I always wanted to try a serum from Beauty of Joseon, so the decision was made quickly.

At the moment I have already finished half of the serum and I can already say that this is the best serum I have ever used!

About the brand Beauty of Joseon

Whenever I see this brand I always think of a Korean historical TV series I was following (which I can’t remember the name of). Korea was called Joseon there.

Joseon comes from the Joseon dynasty. This was an important period in Korean history, lasting for centuries. At that time, the elite looked down on eye-catching make-up. They prefered subtle make-up and beautiful and healthy skin.

This mindset is the source of inspiration for the brand Beauty of Joseon: purity, simplicity and subtle beauty are more powerful than excess. They use Hanbang (classic ingredients) that improve the condition of the skin: such as ginseng, green tea, ginger and lotus root.

What it promises

The Calming Serum effectly soothes damaged and sensitive skin. It prevents skin aging and offers moisturizing and brightening effects. It also restores the skin to a clear, healthy and youthful complexion.

The serum contains 76% green tea extract, 2% Panthenol and vitamin C. The vitamin C ensures an outstanding whitening effect for bright, clear complexion. The ingredients are naturally derived.

What I think of the Calming Serum

I was already familiar with the Beauty of Joseon serums. I really like the packaging! And I have also read that they are very nice serums, so they had been on my list to try for a while to buy them. But I always thought that the packaging was a bit too small.

Asian beauty products are always a lot smaller than European ones (which I find very annoying), but this serum is even smaller than the average K-beauty serum. So I was wondering if this was word the money.

I just had to try it to find out. I bought the serum on Yesstyle. Once it was delivered, the serum was just as small as I expected.

The serum is bright green and slides easily in and out of the dropper. No serum remains in the dropper. The serum has no scent and my sensitive skin likes that. Products with a scent often irritate my skin.

The serum has a fine gel like texture and when I apply it on my face it feels rich. Like applying a mixture of expensive ingredients to my face. Perhaps this is also the case because it spreads easily and absorbs well. And while I apply, I already see results.

My skin looks hydrated and more radiant. It feels soft and smooth. And my skin tone is more even. I can’t say that it looks whiter (I also don’t believe this serum can do that), but it definitely looks brighter.

The result is permanent and after a few days this serum has become my favorite part of my skin care routine. I love products where you can immediately see the result!

I find that my skin has started to look better since using this product. It doesn’t look dry anymore and I seem to have my skin care routine under control. Or maybe I do have that with this product…

The only downside is that there is so little of it! After a week of use, I was almost on a quarter of the product. But if this serum runs out, I will definitely buy a new one. Or maybe an another one from this brand.

I have to admit it’s quite an expensive serum for the amount you get. I still think the price-quality ratio is good. It’s a luxurious serum and gives immediately result. So if you have sensitive, dry and irritated skin and have some money left, this serum can make a difference!
